Lap Swim Info

Q: What is included in the fee for lap swimming?
A: The lap swim includes use of the pool, spa, locker rooms and shower facilities.  Lockers may be purchased from the front desk for a nominal fee.

Q: Can I bring children with me during lap swim hours?
A: Lap swim is limited to adult fitness for those 18 years of age and over. Children may enjoy the water during recreational swim times.

Q: Which pool can I use for lap swim?
A: Generally lap swim is held in the 25-yard pool.  The 50-meter pool is primarily reserved for competitions and team use.

Q: Does Splash! have open swim for all ages?
A: Yes, recreational swimming is offered for patrons of all ages.

Q: Are the pools heated?
A: Yes, each pool is heated year-round.

Spa Info

Q: Can I pay to use the spa only?
A: You are welcome to use the spa without lap swimming. Daily admission fees still apply.

Q: How old do you need to be to use the spa?
A: The spa is for adults 18 years and older.

Swim Lesson & Class Info

Q: When are swimming lessons offered?
A: Swimming lessons are offered year-round at Splash! La Mirada Regional Aquatic Center for children all age groups and skill levels. Lessons are held in four-week and two-week sessions.

Q: How long are the classes?
A: Classes are offered in 25-minute and 50-minute durations.

Q: Can I cancel my class and get a refund?
A: Class registration may be canceled before the second day of the class meeting. A refund of the course fee less $10 will be offered at that time. If canceling after the second day of the class meeting, patrons will not be eligible for a refund.

Q: Does the City cancel classes?
A: Classes may be canceled by the City during thunderstorms or other unforeseen conditions. Splash! representatives will make efforts to notify you of the cancelation in advance. A refund will be placed on your account for the cost of the class time missed if the City cancels the class for the day.

Q: How many participants are in each class?
A: Participant maximums are set based on the age and ability level of the course. Generally, group classes range up to 10 participants for upper levels and 12 participants for specialty classes. Semi-private classes are limited to three participants and private lessons are limited to one participant.

Q: How do I know which class level my child should be in?
A: Beginning level students may be placed in either the preschool class (if they are between the ages of 3 and 6) or the Sailors class (for participants over 6 years of age). If your child has taken swim lessons at another facility or already has some swim skills and you are unsure of the level, Splash! offers skills testing. Skills testing can be done during Recreational Swim hours or by phoning Splash! to set up a time. Splash! staff will have your child swim a variety of strokes and advise you on what is an appropriate level for your child.

Water Exercise Info

Q: What is the Water Exercise Class?
A: Water Exercise is a generalized water-aerobic exercise program in a fun atmosphere. Slim down and shape up while conditioning all body systems. Progress and participate at a reasonable fitness level.

Q: Can my child participate in the Water Exercise program?
A: Water exercise classes are open to participants ages 14 years and older.

Buccaneer Bay Info

Q: Is there an advantage in purchasing a season pass to Buccaneer Bay?
A: If you live nearby and plan on visiting often, a season pass to Buccaneer Bay is the best value.  A season pass also provides the most flexibility for visiting Bucaneer Bay.

Q: What is the minimum age to be unaccompanied by an adult into Buccaneer Bay?
A: Children 12 years and under must accompanied by an adult (18 years or older).

Q: Are there any height requirements for Buccaneer Bay?
A: The Aqua play area is equipped with smaller slides designed for children under 48”.  Guests under 48″ may also use the lazy river as long as they are wearing a life jacket and accompanied by an adult.  Patrons riding the large slides need to be at least 48” in height.

Q: Does Splash! provide life jackets?
A: Yes, Splash! has life jackets available for the public free of charge. Patrons may also bring their own life jacket if it is U.S. Coast Guard approved.

Q: Can I bring a picnic lunch or snacks for the day?
A: For your convenience, there are food vendors on-site offering a variety of food and drinks.  There is also a grass area outside of the facility for you to enjoy your picnic lunch.  Unopened bottled water may be brought into the facility.

Groups and Birthday Reservations

Q: How far in advance do I need to reserve a group rate or birthday party?
A: For the best availability, please book your party early.  Reservations for the season are available now.  To ensure proper entry and discount pricing for your group, make your birthday party reservations at least one week in advance. Group rate reservations should be made at least 48 hours in advance.

Buccaneer Bay Rules

  • The City of La Mirada cares about the safety and well being of our guests. Please read and comply with posted signs and instructions given by the staff. Participate at Your Own Risk.
  • Children under 13 must be supervised by an adult 18 years or over. Parents are responsible for the safety of their children.
  • NO diving in shallow water.
  • NO underwater breath holding.
  • NO running or pushing.
  • Splash! dress code will be in effect. Appropriate swimwear required. No gang or other inappropriate clothing or markings will be permitted.
  • Metal, plastic ornamentation, exposed zippers, buckles or rivets are not allowed on slides. Diapered guests must wear approved plastic swim pants in all pools and attractions.
  • Certain attractions have height and lifejacket requirements. Children must be 48” to ride on the large slides. While in the river children under 48” must wear a lifejacket and children under 42” must wear a lifejacket and be within arms reach of an adult.
  • Rental Lockers are available. No photography or video are allowed in locker rooms.
  • Outside food and beverages are not permitted. Picnic areas are available outside the park.
  • Guests may leave and return during the same session by showing a wristband or Splash! hand stamp.
  • All items are subject to search. Coolers, glass items, and gum are not allowed in the facility.
